Multiservice Student Space

For two months, this center will make services available to students and new arrivals in Lyon to help them install themselves in the city and carry out a successful study program.



The Multiservice Student Space (Espace Multiservices Etudiant, or EME) is a central reception desk designed for French and foreign students who are new to Lyon. It is organized each year by the City of Lyon, the Lyon-St. Etienne CROUS, the Rhône Prefecture, the Rhône-Alpes Region  and the Lyon University PRES.
 
With the participation of numerous public and private partners grouped by centers of interest, EME will be held from September 5 to October 31, 2013, from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
An international team will be on hand to greet students in French, English, Spanish, German, Chinese and Arabic and will propose a variety of services: 
 
- Reception of international students with delivery of residence permits;
- Housing-jobs : offers, advice and cyberspace;
- Financing and studies : assistance for financing successful studies;
- Transportation: reduced rates on transit passes, schedules, weekend outings;
- Culture, sports and tourism : leisure activities and smart tips, Culture Pass, cultural programs, guide to sports;
- Health-prevention : individual welcome, introduction and information.
Throughout the entire period: theme days, activities, screenings, gifts and meetings with student associations.
 
A cyberspace and a cafeteria will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Multiservice Student Space premises.

Renewal of your Residence Permit, by filling out an application, with delivery of a receipt at the six Rhône Prefecture windows opened in the Maison des Etudiants from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., non-stop during the entire EME event. 

> For students registered at Lyon 1, Lyon 2, Lyon 3 or INSA: first contact the pertinent service at your university.

Validation of long-term visas (VLS/TS) with the Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’intégration (French Office of Immigration and Integration, or OFII)  

Job offers, search assistance, legal counsel, documentation and cyberspace  

All partners give you advice on the approach to adopt and provide you with practical information for your installation. Meet with them and ask questions during the theme days on four Mondays: September 9, 16, 23 and 30.

> CRIJ  : job offers and housing ads for on-site consultation, with weekly updating.
> CAF, for student housing assistance: handy guide and assistance with the online preparation of files.
> ADIL, to know all about your housing rights and take advantage of free counsel.
> CLLAJ : assistance in looking for or managing a rental.   
> MAIF : information on rental insurance and educational solutions. 
> OSE, the Student Club: network of student residences, job offers and smart tips.
> Entreprises-Habitat : housing offers, advice and solutions for young people: deposit and Loca-Pass® guarantee; Mobili-Jeune® assistance.
> A large panel on student housing : public and private, from residences to co-rentals with URBANIA, Résilogis, Estudines, and Groupe Amallia.
 > URHAJ : information housing in a Young Workers Home (Foyer de Jeunes Travailleurs).

> Campus France, French agency for the promotion of higher education, welcoming and international mobility: assistance, information and orientation on different training programs and scholarships for successful studies in France.
> The Lyon-St. Etienne CROUS : Student Social File (Dossier Social Etudiant, or D.S.E.) and assistance for international mobility.
Meet with them and ask questions during the theme days: every Wednesday and Thursday morning in September and October.

Information on different ways to finance your studies and ensure their success with : 

> TCL / Sytral  : Campus Pass for €28.10/month for your daily travel, the new e-Técély online ticket window and the “Lyon City Card” to discover Lyon. More information on the new TCL offers will soon be published.
> SNCF  / TER Rhône-Alpes  : information on student passes (Illico-Liberté and Jeune cards), TER+TCL combined offers, home-to-study travel by TER and weekend outing packages.

Learn more and benefit from a free TCL card on theme days: Thursday, September 5, and four Wednesdays: September 11, 18 and 25 and October 2.

There is also information on the bike network with VELO’V/ Gre ater Ly on. 

> Sale of the Culture Pass with the City of Lyon  during the entire EME: €16 for a choice of four events from those offered by the 35 cultural partners.

> Maison de l’Europe et des Européen s (House of Europe and Europeans): documentation on Europe, its institutions and operation, and studies in Europe.
> Sports guide from the Lyon Office of Sports.
> Cultural establishment programs and festivals, with, among others: the Rhône-Alpes Region and the Lyon Municipal Library.


Individual welcome, awareness actions, orientation and documentation on:
 
> The health system, access to treatment and reimbursement of health expenses with student health insurance provided by SMERRA and LMDE.
> Vaccination, sexuality, contraception, screening, nutrition, sleep, addictive behavior (tobacco, alcohol, drugs) and all personal or family questions.
> Accessibility for the disabled in higher education with the PRES Disability Mission.

> The Centers for Family Planning and Education (CPEF ) on Mondays and Fridays in September, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
> The Departmental Social Hygiene Committee (CDHS ) on Tuesdays in September, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
> Health Info Bus  on Thursdays in September, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
